(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 26 Feb 2017) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of liquorice, smoke and espresso. Malty, roasted taste with sweet liquorice, smoke, coffee, roasted malt, dark bread and a balanced roasty bitterness. More than medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and fairly well balanced, with a mild smoke note. Nice one.

Bottle from Bierkonig. Black with a coffee head. Aroma of smoky roast malt. Flavour is a little bacon, coffee malt, chocolate on a sweet smoke finish.

Tap at Arendsnest, 28th July 16. Pours dark brown and viscous. Taste is rich, smokey, savoury, intense, bacon, roasted malts. Mouth feel is smooth and full. Lovely stuff

Sampled from tap at Brouwersfestival Utrecht 2016. Pitch black with a creamy, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, roasty and smoky aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, bacon and some caramel. Sweetish-malty, roasty and smoky taste of dark chocolate, coffee, bacon and some caramel, followed by a medium long, slightly roasty-bitter, smoky finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Good!
