It’s been said, “It’s easier to brew an extremely hoppy beer than an extremely balanced beer.” And you know us, we are always looking for the easy way out, so we jumped on the West Coast IPA Bandwagon and brewed this dry and hoppy ale. “Surly’s a little bit of a one-trick pony, they just brew gimmick beers,” and maybe we are OVERRATED, but at the end of the day, it’s just a beer. If you like it, great, so do we. If you only liked us when we were small, then leave this one on the shelf. Let one of the fanboys grab it.

Clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is sweet citrus hop notes- almost candied tropical fruits, grapefruit, light pine resin. Inviting. Medium bodied. Flavor is along the lines of the aroma with a little less sweetness. Very enjoyable brew.

Can: Hazy brown-amber with a small, off-white head. Orange, mango scent. Sweet tropical, orange-peel bitter taste. Slightly oily.... Very pleasant sweet to bitter mix.... Really good.

Can. Pours a clear yellow with a bit of gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has notes of earthy tropical fruits and grass with a light resin note and some sweet grains underlying. Flavor has more bitter citrus and a bit of pine with a hint of tropical fruits and a grain backbone.

Can. Mango, tangerine, malt and orange peel aroma. Cloudy golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet orange/tangerine malt and moderately bitter grapefruit peel flavor. Good - like the fruit flavor.

Tap@Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen - orange coloured pour with small white head. Aroma and taste is citrus fruity and malty, lovely and hoppy with pleasing mandarin and grapefruit flavours throughout, pine needles, good bitter finish.

Tap at Le Senk. Very aromatic, intense flowery, citrusy, resiny. Clear orange colour. Moderately stable head. Taste is mostly hoppy, high bitterness, flowery, citrusy, spruce. Intense, yet gentle. Very good.

Tap at Le Senk. orange golden color with huge white head. Nice citrus hoppy bitter aroma. Taste, solid maly base followed vy nice citrus hoppy kick. Long citrus hoppy bitter finish. Tasty.

Can 50cl, via trade, thanks Bacterial. Orangée, col épais crémeux blanc-cassé. Arôme au bon bouquet houblonné alternant notes fruitées et tropicales avec un très bon résineux rappelant le Chinook et Simcoe. Palais est malté pâle, Munich, pointe de pils avec un léger cara. Houblonné agréable sans pour cela être une révélation. Note légère résineuse, amer avec une belle profondeur des agrumes. Pointe de pin et un rappel d’orange confite.

Draught at CBC 2014. Clear orange liquid with a medium off-white head. Aroma of tangerine, bread, grain, citrus and mango. Taste is dry and medium to high bitter with notes of tangerine, bread and citrus. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Really good IPA. Came back for several more samples.
