This sweet tart sour ale is full of Turkish Delight cherries, giving it a puckered up punch of cherry charm, then it's fermented with some Brettanomyces for that extra funky funk. We love you, Cherry Jane. Do ya?

12 oz. bottle, sent by Lagunitas for review. The cherry nose is actually a little sweet under the cap. Pours a definitely cherry red beer, with a definitely pink foamy head. I just had to take a picture with head all frothed up to show how pink it is. A little of a tart nose once it’s in the glass, but also a creamy sweetness of a cherry pie filling. And that’s where the taste settles, too. Tartness, but not really that sour. Strong cherry flavor with, as a said, a bit of creaminess. Along the lines of a cherry-ade with some vodka sneaked in.

Bottle. A- Cherry jam. A- Dark red color, clear liquid, light pink head. T- Cherry juice, tart, pie filling, slightly unbalanced. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, tart finish. O- Lots of cherry and tart. About like biting into a tart slightly unripe cherry. Straightforward. Good. Not great.

Bottle from Craft Brewed. Pours a clear ruby with a finger of off-white foam that dissipates quickly. Lovely maraschino cherry forward nose with some mild cherry skin and light yeast on the nose as it warms. Dry on the palate, with a well-rounded mouthfeel, underlying carbonation and faint mineral notes. Dry cherry stone and skin flavors as well as some restrained funk. Bone dry finish with dried cherry. Pretty good. --- Beer merged from original tick of Lagunitas One Hitter Series: Cherry Jane Sour Ale on 09 Aug 2018 at 00:55 - Score: 7. Original review text: Maraschino cherry forward nose with mild yeast aromas. Cherry stone, and skin, mineral water notes. Lingering dry cherry with a touch a funk

Pours cherry red, pink head. Nose is weak, but hints at cherries and dough. Flavor is sour cherries, a little bit earthy and mineral-like. Moderate degree of tartness. Semi-dry at finish with a lingering cherry pie flavor. I like that its balanced, not overly sweet nor sour nor fruity.

Pours bright magenta into a shaker. Pink head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Maraschino juice aromas. Soft with bitter cherry skin and pits upfront turning to mild funk and earth in the medium length finish.

On tap at Lagunitas Seattle, pours a hazy bright red with a small off-pink head. Aroma smells like tart cherry pie, with cinnamon and a touch of funk. Flavour is moderately tart, with cinnamon, tart cherries and a hint of funk. Fairly laid back, with a yogurty palate. Nothing special.

Fairly one-note, with a lingering sour cherry acidity and not much else going on. Nose is astoundingly bland, though, not offering up a trace of the fruit inside, instead coming off grainy and somewhat cardboard-ish. Pretty pour, though, and the perky texture gives the pint a summer-appropriate effervescence. Otherwise skippable.
