We’ve partnered with Bavaria’s Weihenstephan, the world’s oldest brewery, for this American take on the classic German Oktoberfest. A malt backbone is balanced by subtle hop character in this crisp, clean, and drinkable crowd-pleaser. Nothing captures the spirit of celebration like a beer among friends.

Nice sweet malt notes, crisp and clean, perfect octoberfest beer, way better than the Weiss collab.

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, bottled on 7/30/2018. Pours fairly crystal clear deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big cracker, white bread dough/crust, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey/nuttiness, light pepper, herbal and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with bready malts and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big cracker, white bread dough/crust, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey/nuttiness, light pepper, herbal and floral/grassy earthiness. Mild herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, honey, nuttiness, pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome robustness of bready malts and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with no fruity/yeasty notes present. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6%. Overall this is an awesome Oktoberfest! All around great robustness of bready malts and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, clean, and pretty refreshing to drink, with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Feels more like a proper amber marzen, unlike last years festbier. Very clean and rich pale/Munich malt complexity, with mild balancing noble hops against sweetness. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.

Bottle (or to be more accurate - 3 bottles poured into my Weihenstephaner Maßkrug). Nutty toffee, light vanilla, and dry hay aroma. Dark amber with moderate head. Creamy nutty toffee malt and mildly bitter fresh hay flavor. Nice body. Spectacular - great creamy malt flavor with nice hops.

Pours deep gold into a shaker. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Caramel aromas. Dry with sweet caramel and toffee upfront turning to earthy hops in the medium length finish.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a brilliant orange copper color with a small white head. A big sweet malty nose. Quite sweet, bready, some fruit, not sure what maybe ripe apples. Crisp. Very smooth. Drinkablity is very high.

Damn! What happened to the Vienna malt Oktoberfest? This is just another sweet fruity Oktoberfest this year. What a disappointment.

This is one of their best renditions since starting these Bavarian collabs. Maybe it has something to do with partnering with Weihenstephan, I mean, those guys make world class beers. Nice deep reddish amber color, full foaming head. Perfectly balanced between a lightly earthy melanoidiny malt, a lightly grassy (and floral in the nose) hop, medium bodied. A special beer.

Tap at Cap Hop. Pours dark somewhat coppery gold with a white head. Aroma is malt with a very, very light noble hop note - more spice than grass. Med body. Flavor is bready in a mildly dark way. Hop is barely detectable. Earthy? It’s a pretty good flavor, but it’s all about the malt. Now I’m thinking the hop might be Saphir, but there’s not much there to analyze. :)

Middle Kroger (the Charlottesville one that's not on RateBeer), bottle. Medium gold pour, small off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt, brown leaf. Flavor is sweet malts, brown leaves, cracker, brown steeped grass. Good flavor - I taste autumn in this.
