This nice big 750 is courtesy of my Utah hook up extraordinaire douglas88, thanks again! I’ve had this for a while now (maybe 8 months). It pours dark mahogany with mocha head and spotty lacing. What?! The aroma is bold rich pure yum with a mix of caramel candy, black strap molasses, some burnt toffee, malt balls, mild prune notes and just a bit of booze at the end of the draw. Smells wonderful and hides the huge ABV very well. The taste is just as good, wonderful, with loads of chocolate, black strap molasses, slick slippery sweet malts, some black licorice and mild spicy oak like notes. I expected this to be a booze harsh brew but luckily I was completely wrong. Smooth rich bold and brilliantly good. (Need more of this).

Sampled from the tap at 2010 FOBAB. Poured black with a brown head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma was full of roasted malts with some dark chocolate and hint of coffee as well as a hint of licorice. Flavor had a slight bitter chocolate to roasted malts with a bit of a whiskey finish.

The last of my beers from GBBF ’10 and a damn fine one too. Jet black pour with a fluffy tan head. Nice, nasal caressing aromas of molasses, chocolate, coffee, toffee, a dash of soy sauce and marzipan. Good, inviting roasty nose. Big, bold flavours of dark roast coffee, licorice, some smoke, dark chocolate, quite earthy, robust oak flavours. Dry as Jack Dee’s wit finish with a slight bitterness. Warming alcohol infusion. Tasty.
