Our West-Coast inspired India Pale ale offers lots of flavor and aroma without over-powering the senses. A complex blend of 5 hops lend a firm bitterness to the notes of grapefruit, tangerines, and pine. A big dry hop addition of Citra and Simcoe hops give Mystic Mama a nose to stand up to the flavor.

Orange with a white head. Juicy fruit notes, pine, sweet caramel. Good bitterness throughout and a nice bitter note paired with juicy sweetness to finish it out. A nice take on the style.

12oz can. Poured a clear amber/orange color with a fluffy, foamy white head. Aroma was huge floral hops, with a small resin bitterness. Flavor was light grapefruit rind, floral hops. Really nice stuff.

Finally able to grab a beer... Jackie O’s Mystic Mama West Coast IPA 7% Clear bright gold with a punchy hop bouquet delivering fresh citrus notes medium bodied super crisp and clean with fruits up front then malt sweetness to balance out the hop bitterness and a minty herbal pine finish. Such a fresh bright clean brew. Winner.

Can from Cardinal Trading. Bright golden orange with a light haze and a thick, low head. Big, ripe, tropical fruit nose, biscvuity, honey malts, sweet mandarin orange. Crisp, tangy, almost tart flavor, lots of orange and grapefruit, yuzu, biscuits, light tropical dankness. Great one.

Taster at brewery. Pale gold, slightly cloudy, creamy head. Aroma is light hops, fruity, malty. Not your typical West Coast IPA, but there are some sharp, piney hoppy notes that trickle in late. Smooth, creamy.

Black and purple can for $2 at vintage. Mild sweet hop perfume nose. Pale yellow with a big white foamy head. Taste is big bitter hops cloying sap. Over the top and down the sides double IPA flavors. One sided, big bad slap in the mouth. Quite a mystic lady on the front of the can, well endowed. No, I mean the flavors. Waiting for the 7 percent to kick in during the middle of the session. Whew. Rubbery bitter bastard mixed with dirty pine tar sap and turpentine. Then throw in a little hand soap to boot. IPA automaton. Can barely finish it, I guess I'm not a real man. Not impressed, who likes preservatives in their beer? Just asking.
