750 ml bottle. Pours opaque chestnut, medium fizzy tan head, nice residual and solid lacing. Pretty aromatic, notes of bourbon, toffee, vanilla, date, oak, a touch of cherry. Flavor is fairly sweet and light bitter, some astringence from the wood, tons of dark malt and sugar notes, rich and decadent. Lots of bourbon and vanilla on top. A bit of an acidic harshness to it, unfortunately. Medium body, quite hot.

Bottle thanks to Nathan. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is roast, wood, and whiskey. Medium mouth with sweet roast, chocolate, bourbon, and wood. Very good.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours a murky opaque dark brown with a beige head. Very spicy aroma, loads of vanilla and licorice allsorts - and booze. Rich body, heavy caramel and chocolate with a distinct sweet impact of the whiskey barrels. Very little Brown Ale here, if there ever was any roastiness it’s definitely gone now. But a very delicious border Barley Wine. A little too boozy throughout though. 040914

750mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours a deep dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out intense whiskey barrels, caramelized sugar, and loads of maple. Flavour brings out quite a lot of maple, caramelized sugar, whiskey, alcohol, and a touch of coffee. The alcohol is completely shown, all 13%. Highly carbonated. A bit over the top. Decent, but too brutal.
