Bottled. An amber beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of whiskey, caramel, over ripe fruits, alcohol. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of alcohol, and medium notes of over ripe fruits, caramel, brettanomyces, and wood, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle bought in Amsterdam by my father. Pours hazy dark reddish brown with a rather big frothy goldenish pale brown head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. smell is sweet and malty with sweet dark bread, bourbon, charred wood, moist soil, coconut shells, caramel, caramelized apples, alcohol, toffee, cocoa powder, prunes, hay and lemon zest. Taste is tiny sweet, heavy bitter, malty, earthy and herbal with dark bread, caramel, toffee, bourbon, moist soil, hay, freshly cut grass, alcohol, charred wood, burnt sugar, anise, caraway, alcohol, caramelized almonds and hints of high cocoa content chocolate. Mouthfeel is soft, round, slightly dry, slightly astringent, slightly boozy and near full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and malty with sweet dark bread, caramel, toffee, bourbon, caramelized almonds, alcohol, moist soil, orange peal and hay. Slightly over the top but still tasty.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Almost opaque dark brown beer. Vibrant cream - tan head. Palate is softish, light and airy. Mild fine carbonation. Soft creamy rich malt. Little caramel and toffee. Light dried fruits. Alcohol spice - but it’s never hot. Whiskey fruits and spices before a light dry finish. A sumptuos beer which keeps handle on it’s big abv and manages to remain light and very quaffable.
