We’re going au naturel for the summer with the classic wheatly-esque-ish-ness brew you know and love. With a special dry-hopping of Cashmere, Citra & Mosaic on a bed of Centennial and Chinook. Juicy, catty, and leaves you with a hop scratch that you can’t help but tickle with another taste. Does that clear things up?

Forgot I had this, no date on the bottle and don't know when I got it. The Aromas are mostly Pine resin with hints of citrus and Dry grain. Flavors are like nose, bittersweet but with no hook to the flavor. Nothing distinguishing here. Okay body carbonation with a slightly boozy finish.

Pours hazy yellow into a shaker. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Lemon, papaya and guava aromas. Medium bodied with sourdough, lemon/lime and pineapple upfront turning to mildly bitter pith in the lasting finish.

12 ounce bottle from Woodman's Appleton, 8/7/19. Hazy and near murky orange. Thin white head, foamy, good retention. Aroma of grapefruit, lime, mango, pale malt. Taste is tropical fruit, papaya, mango, lime, pale malt. Medium bodied, juicy, low bitterness. Decent.

Bottle from 8 Degrees Plato. Pours a clearish gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. Some protein or yeast floaties visible as well. Peach, pineapple and durian aromas on the nose. Smooth and easy drinking with some lemon, dragonfruit and apricot on the palate. Flavors and aromas don't really pop that much. It's like drinking the blonde ale version of a NEIPA. Cheap but disappointing. --- Beer merged from original tick of Lagunitas A Little Sumpin' Hazy on 15 Aug 2019 at 00:56 - Score: 6. Original review text: Tropical fruit nose with some apricot and peach. Muted palate w/ some pineapple, lychee and citrus, but is more of a hoppy blonde than neipa

Never ceases to amaze me how most of these classic massive pre-boom craft breweries routinely fail to make a great NEIPA. Their versions aren't terrible--god knows there's no shortage of astringent, half-assed onion-n-wort hazed IPAs on the shelves these days--but they lack the bright, vibrant purpose of a lovely pint from Trillium or Bearded Iris. Sumpin' Hazy follows the trend set by Stone and Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada (all breweries I like), in that their attempt at an NEIPA comes across too focus-group-friendly, a pint designed to please the most amount of people while offending none. Little Sumpin' Hazy's not bad--the mandarin, honey, bubble gum, mango, and berry hop notes are pleasant--but it's all too subdued, too timid. No palate punching, no crazy hop overload. I appreciate the lack of hop burn--the major breweries do seem to know how to avoid making painful beer--but why would you choose a sixer of this over any of the finer tallboy 4-packs your local(ish) tiny brewery makes with conviction?

Bottle pour into shaker pint glass from The City, Plaistow NH. Appearance is hazy yellow with nice sparkle, finger-width white creamy foam head with decent retention and nice soapy lacing. Aroma is stone fruit, milder sweet and tart citrus and malt backbone. Taste is sweet citrus and stone fruits, with milder tartness. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and dry, crisp finish as taste with mild lingering bitterness. Overall, this has all the elements of a NEIPA but it just seems west coast brewers don't go all in on the style. It's OK but is not a great representative of the style.

Bottle. Unclear yellow color with white head. Aroma is sugar icing, a bit chalky, vanilla, grassy. Taste is the same. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Fun!

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 6/28/2019. Pours opaquely hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, coconut, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, wood, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/light earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, coconut, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, wood, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, coconut, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/zest, wood, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/light earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Slight lingering resins/rinds after the finish. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.2%. Overall this an awesome NEIPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/light earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish; great soft feel. Awesome Cashmere, Citra, Mosaic, Centennial and Chinook profile. Super juicy, vibrant, and lightly dank/earthy hops; with a great balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive spot on style example as expected. Still prefer the base beer a lot more.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow, white head. Very nice fresh pineapple and passion fruit, hardly any onion and sweat. Medium light body, lightly chalky, pleasant bitter finish, fruity hops retronasal. More a unfiltered IPA with a bit of extra aromatics, and I am happy about that.
