Nice barrel character on the totality base. Mellow chocolate, honey & vanilla. Sweet & bitter taste. Bit thin on the mouthfeel.

Bottle @ company tasting. 2013 edition. Pitch black body with a small, dense brown head. Strong, intense, very nice aroma of dark malt, coffee, dark chocolate, dry fruit and alcohol. Flavor is sweet dark malt, dry fruit, coffee, chocolate, balanced bitterness and a bit boozy Bourbon in a nice way. Full bodied and very long lasting, strong aftertaste. Very nice, not exactly what I will call balanced, but still very nice in a big, bold way.

2012 bottle. Pours deep mahogany-tinged brown into a snifter. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Vanilla and bourbon aromas. Sweet hot chocolate and vanilla upfront turning to warming bourbon and bitter earth in the lasting finish.

At Sycamore, vintage 2014. Lots of bourbon indeed, quite boozy, but less than others. Strongly boozy, still sweet, lots of barrel. Warmer on the palate than the others I’ve tried. More of a sipper. Good, but not my favourite.
