3 Fonteinen (Oude) Kriekenlambik is the result of macerating hand-picked whole sour cherries on young lambic for at least four months, in a proportion of one kilogram of fruit per litre of lambic (and possibly blended with some more young lambic). Fruit intensity ranges from minimum 35% to 50%. Aside some selected bars (e.g. 20th Anniversary of Akkurat in Stockholm, Sweden), this sour cherry lambic is available at given times in the lambik-O-droom.

0,75l bottle at home. Bottled 10.12.2021. deep red color, tiny bubbles. smells cherries, marzipan, funky, earthy, stone fruits, baby diaper, bit lactic. nice smell. full body, no carbonation. tastes cherries, stone fruits, bit lactic, nutty, marzipan, grassy, earthy, peppery. finishes rather dry and light to medium sour with notes of pepper, tobacco and earthy notes. pretty good one, rather on the dry more pepper and earthy notes then cherries coming through. Overall I quite like it.

Tart, sour, fruity sweetness. Fresh red cherry concentrate, woody barrel, some barnyard funk. Medium acidity, quite dry, but still manages to remain smooth. So much cherry, excellent. What silly persons have been rating this?

Pours a beautifull, particularly dark red. Small formation of 'foam' thats pinkwhite. Intense , room-filling aroma of wet cherries. Intense red-level of intensity, almost ( though I haven't put them side to side) . Taste is medium acidic, you can tell it's actually higher by the finish, but the cherries are so intense (still, 5 years after botteling) that it gets more countered than you'd give it credit for when you're simply drinking this, rather than picking it appart. Bit one dimentional, very cherry forward, than again that might be the idea of this beer though. Not as flat as I would have thought, I'd say medium low to medium carbonation - whereas most Geuzes of cherry beers can go rather high, so it's still lower obviously.

75cl bottle (season 20 - 21) Blend No. 15 @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, March 22. In memory of Armand. Pours a deep blood red, thin pinkish white head. Vibrant cherry nose, pleasant wild suggestions. Taste has intense cherry, soft woody elements, moderately sour with a gentle edge. Nicely tart. Very nice.

Monday 7th March 2022, monthly beer exchange in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Usual 5 suspects sharing beers and talking bollocks. Cheers Mike for the 0.75cl bottle of this the 6.6% ABV season 20 - 21 Blend No. 15 version. My last beer before my train. Slightly rushed, but managed to get the gist of it's sour cherry flavour and aroma.

Bottle at home. Deep ruby with small pink head. Lovely sweet and sour cherry, cherry pie, marzipan, light funk, wheat, dry cellar notes, oak. Almost medium sweet, light tart and bitter. Solid medium bodied with very low carbonation. Very tasty, lots of fruit and not so sour.
