440ml can bought at Unbarred brewery & taproom in Brighton. Shared with Finn. Cloudy apricot coloured body. Stable pearl white head, fair lacing. Orange fruity, mid-dry, smell. Dried fruity flavours, impact of orange, and a vague note of yeasty fruitiness. Smooth mid-sweet and mid-dry fruity ending. Fine depth. Pleasing. (Hotel room, Reading 27.10.2019).

Delt med Rune på rom 310 Travelodge Reading. Gyldenbrun. Høyt luftig skum som daler sakte. Litt uklar. Krydderaroma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken søt frukt ispedd krydder. Bra men vel søt.

Pours rather clear amberblonde. Huge, and I mean huge, white head that is rather stable, and pilowy. Smell is rich, aged factor, think figs ( indeed, as it said on the can) which I usually associate more on darker beers, honey ( mild oxidation, I'd think. Even though the can is fresh so I think this is what the standard is for the beer, as I've kept it cold throughout it's life in my possession), Belgian yeast is recognizable, due to the esters ( pear), and mild phenols ( ever so slightly pepper). Taste is full, rather sharp alcohol touch. Honey. Pear esters, mild spicy touch by the phenols. Alcohol shows a bit, and carbonation is medium, as most has left the beer, desguised as a half-liter-glass-filling foam. Malty, but not very sweet per se. Has some bitterness to it. The beer isn't that thick neither, yet doesnt feel 'refreshing', mostly due to the esters. As you pour more, in a half filled glass, the foam doesn't rise as much, making the beer that you can now drink very highly carbonated. Always fun to try rare styles such as BDG, but even in style, I have others I'd prefer.
