Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, some subtle smoke. Flavour is malty and roasty with a medium bitter finish. Very nice and easily drinkable Porter, though I would have liked a little more smoke.

Tap at de Prael, Amsterdam: Very dark brown coloured brew with an dry bitter taste and if you try enough there is some smokiness. Hints of coffee, chocolate and roasted malts. Rubberen Robbie was an musical band that parodying Dutch music at the end of the 70’s and beginning of the 80’s. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYipSN_xmu8

A nice mild porter. The smoke is properly done in that it’s tame but present. Light bodied easy drinking beer. De prael Amsterdam

Oedipus Rubberen Robbie Smoked Porter 6.5% On opening this pitch black brew I got a whiff of roast Porter notes. Once it settled in my glass topped with tan foam it gave off peat smokey notes. Full bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and dry finish. The smoke is well melded to roast cacao and chocolate oat cake flavors. Pretty damn nice.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malt, caramel and a hint of smoky sausage in the aroma. Malty caramelly sweetish flavor with licorice and smoke. Hints of apple and confit cherries. Very tasty. Fairly well balanced.
