A big dense tan head with heavy lacing on a dark brown body. A big rich nose with sweet malt, cocoa, coffee, berries and some chalkiness. This is a big rich imperial porter. Slightly bitter coffee, cocoa, chocolate fudge, plums, dark berries and a touch of rye spice are all present in this dense and rich beer. A touch of vanilla adds to the party. 500ml bottle from the lcbo. Black pour, large brown head. Big roast, pine resin hops, soft spice from the rye, and hints of bitter cocoa. Silky mouth feel, soft carb. Finish is medium bitter, with strong licorice notes, anise, fennel and more pine. Sweetness fades and pine rounds everything out, with more roast.

From tap at Kaapse Brouwers, Rotterdam. Aroma is thick rye, roasted malt, dark chocolate, creamy mocha, coffee, touch of tobacco with fruity hoppy notes and some liquorice. Medium sweet flavour with some roasty bitterness in the finish. Body is full. Lovely Imperial Porter with a lot of chocolate in the aroma.

Аромат прежде всего сладкий, немного карамели, лакрица некие специи и солод. Пена тонкая, но постоянная, кофейная. Цвет черный, не прозрачный. Вкус несмотря на 9 градусов весьма питкий. Великолепная сбалансированность между сладким вкусом и горьким оттенком, хорошая карбонизация. Ощущается ваниль, лакрица, кармель на оттенке Бельгийский шоколад. На послевкусие греет горло, ощущается еще больше ванили и ванили с оттенками патоки, легкие винные нотки. В общем пиво меня дико удивило с хорошей стороны, теперь зауважал данный сорт.

Aroma of chocolate, coffee, dried plums, caramel. Clear, 'porterish', quite intensive. Taste of coffee, chocolate, caramel, plums, licorice. Medium bitterness, low carbonation. Medium body - as rye porter imo should be more oily - add more rye! Solid but not great one.
