Bottled@SBWF2012. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some rye, fruits, ryebread, wood and mild toffeeish notes. Flavour is roasted malts, liquorice, alcohol, some mild nutty and toffeeish notes. Very nice!

Bottled at SBWF. Near black, small head. Aroma of whisky and tobacco. Sweet with near full body and rounded mouthfeel. Milk chocolate flavours well melted together with tobacco, earth and whisky. Warming really bitter finish. Packed with flavours, without getting too obnoxious. Really well made!

Bottle (Stockholm Beer Festival 2012) - Black with a foamy tan head. Coffee, rye and chocolate in the aroma. Coffee, roasted malt and plain chocolate can be detected in the taste.

Henrik Ol & Vinstove, Bergen tap: Pour is black with a brown head. Aroma is rye and very roasted malt, perhaps a bit burnt. Also, there is some dark chocolate. Taste is slightly sweet. It is not as bitter as was expected. Lots of roast. Finish is pretty dope. This is a well-balanced, well-covered beer. I love it when beers try new things and pull them off sexily on the first try.

Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 08/09/2012. Brownish-black pour with a medium tan head that diminishes slowly. Small patches of lace on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and hops. Medium to full body with a roasty malt character and notes of hops, coffee and anise. The finish is mildly bitter coffee and licorice. Above average Porter overall.

On tap. Pours black with a thick creamy brown head that lasts throughout the beer and laces nicely. Aroma has a good amount of roasted malt with a hint of of creamy bitter chocolate and underlying rye. Flavor begins with a note of creamy chocolate that is backed by roasted malts and a growing rye note underlying.

50cl bottle thanks to Joes. Pitch black, opaque color, no head. Smell dark and roasted malts, moccha, dark chocolate. Taste dark and roasted malts, moccha, actually would say oatmeal instead of rye. Thick texture, medium to full body, medium carbo. -- Rerate in Dec 2018: Bottle @ Nuchtere Noorden Tasting shared with Caesar, ShivanDragon and MaartenRF10. Opaque black color, light coffee, some sweetness but also a bit bitter. Quite good. 8-4-7-4-15=3.8

Bottle thx to joes. Pitch black, opaque colour with a quickly gone light brown head. Smells coffee, roasty, dark chocolate. Mostly coffee and mocca. Tastes coffee, mocca, dark chocolate. Very silky, smooth, velvet and thick feel. Low carbo, full body.

500mL bottle, pours a very dark brown / black with a medium tan head. Aroma of cocoa powder, oats, rye and light roasted - the rye and cocoa are most prominent. Flavour brings out the rye above anything, with secondary notes of baker's chocolate, some coffee and medium roasted malt. Full-bodied, very soft palate, with very harsh rye on the finish. Could be confused for a harsh black IPA, though the rye is in place of the hops. Quite solid, though harsh.
