HORAL's Oude Geuze Mega Blend is a blend of young and old Lambic from HORAL members. The beer was first specially produced for the occasion of the 7th edition of the Tour de Geuze, and has been produced in every two year ever since.

Hazy golden pour, with a big white head. Big citrus aromas, stale grass, stale hay, some yeast, and tropical fruit. The funk is very present in the aroma, but it fades drastically in the flavour. The tart funkiness is quite a bit more present in the nose than the flavour. The flavour is has alot of the horse blanket and stale hops, but alot of the funk fades. Still super drinkable, and very flavourful, just lacks depth.

(Bottle, 0.75l - 2019 vintage, 20250207) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had wood, fruitiness, sourness, tartness and stomach acids. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, honey, wood, sourness, tartness, stomach acids and bitterness. Aftertaste had wood, sourness and bitterness. A delicious brew with strong flavours.

Аромат немного травянистый, снова ягоды как и всегда в этом стиле. Конечно ферма со всеми прилагающими есть, но не так сильно как может быть, нотки крыжовника как будто, ну и соответственно хмель, сухость, шампусик. Цвет хороший, полу мутный желтый, пенка сильно шипит. Вкус просто дичайше карбонизированный, газы так и прут, даже если честно слишком. Во вкусе все на месте. Немного лимонное начало, далее уже более фруктовое, наверно цитрусовое. для меня очень много ягод, типа зеленого крыжовника или белой смородины. Послевкусие конечно сухое. Уже с легкой горчинкой от хмеля, а затем снова цитрусы.

Bottle at home, 29/08/16 vintage not noted. Hazed golden with a head formed of tightly knit white bubbles that stay for a short period. Nose is lemon tinged straw, funk, damp wood, musty, damp leaves, herb, tarte lemon. Taste comprises lemon rind, herb, bitter citric sherbets, damp wood, grass, light spice, tarte green grape must, green apple funk. Medium bodied, fine to light prickly carbonation, light drying close with a balanced acidic bite. Solid.

14th September 2020, Shrewsbury Beer Share gathering with Syrian Supper in Chez Sophie, five in attendance. Cork and caged 75cl bottle 2011 version, bottle number 022213; brought by me. I had been ageing this since buying it in Belgium some years ago. Sadly I don't think we opened it early enough as it didn't really excite any of us and seemed a bit 'dull and damp' flavour and aroma wise. Loads of floating sediment didn't help the look either. Semi-sour and yeasty, but nothing like we all expected.

Bottle shared thanks to Kai! Thanks buddy. Pours dark yellow/orange with a medium white head. Aroma is pretty bretty up front, barnyard, sour green apples, tannic, some sweeter fruits and some wood along with some subtle mushroom-like notes. Pretty weird. Taste is citrussy, leathery, sweet green apples, some sour notes but very mild overall.

@Tasting BeerCon, bottle shared, 2015 edt, 75cl, golden with a white head and still lots of carbo, Aroma of horse blancket, straw, hay, wood, Taste is dry, straw, grass, gentle and subtle ´geuze´, not that sour as expected, funky, wood, dry, very nice.
