Bottle @ home. Hazy copper with a gigantic off-white head. Smells somewhat hoppy, some herbs, slightly iron. Tastes iron, slightly hoppy, green leaves. Way too much carbo, medium body. Had this one before but didn’t rate it then, but it was better then. Guess this bottle is a bit old, even though i picked it uo just 4 weeks ago.

330ml bottle from Vesuvio, Darlington. Pours a hazy brown amber colour, foamy off-white head and aroma of malt, biscuit & sweet fruits. Taste is malty with an earthy, woody pine note, abit yeasty, and some lingering light bitterness. Smooth creamy mouth feel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, warming finish. OK.

Bottle. Nose is biscuit, caramel and a slight hint of strawberry. Taste is very malty indeed, cereal, some spice, pepper, the finish is very slight resin and touch of grapefruit. The IPA is submerged under the malt, but pokes out at the finish. Palate is full and alcohol hidden. Overall, not an IPA, which is not a bad thing in of itself, nor is it a particularly good beer. Interesting mix of styles, but nothing to return too as the tastes work in parallel rather than being blended.

33cl bottle from Appellation Wines (Comely Bank). Pours a slightly cloudy red-amber. There;s a thin but attractive head. The nose has biscuits with a hint of toffee and a very vague fruit note, possibly apples. The taste has more toffee and biscuits then there’s an apple note that comes in at the end. The palate is medium bodied with a tangy texture and a fairly well balanced finish. Overall, this makes me think more of a bitter or of an IPA with a lot of rye in it. It’s good though and the sum is somehow better than the individual parts.

Bottle at Ales and Lagers, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a cloudy medium amber with a thin off white frothy head and some broken lace. The aroma is rich and a little malty. The flavour is medium bitter, malty, hoppy and a little spicy, which made me sneeze, so the spices are certainly there! It’s a very rich and smooth beer. Very satisfying.

Flaska från Beernavigator. BBF sep-13. Superbig head, brownorange unclear liquid. Sweet and sour nose, noth like an IPA. Sweet apples, fizzy, sour, like a sour applesoda. Probably an infected bottle.
