500ml bottle, many thanks to JJJaaaPPP for this! Pours very dark brown, good medium tan head. Good amount of smoked malt on the nose. Taste presents smooth grains, nice balanced smoked malt, low charred meat, leather, oak.. overall lighter than expected, giving good drinkability. Smoked elements not too imposing. I liked this.

Very dark brown beer with good light beige head. Aroma is quite mild. It has smoke, tar and malts. Taste is a bit stronger but with same elements; smoke, tar and malts. Not most smoked one, but slightly and stable.

Tap at SOPP 2012, Helsinki. Originally rated 27072012. Colour is dark brown with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Smoke, grain and malts.

50 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 06.03.2009
Aroma is smoky with tar, some grainy notes and hints of licorice. Flavour has smoke, grainy notes, some salty licorice and hints of tar. Not as hardcore as Schlenkerlas but not as light as some german smoky lagers.

Bottle. This beer reminds me of the summers I spent in Finland when I was a little boy. The mix of the ridiculously swee malt base, some light smokeiness and a warming alcholic finish is just Finland to me ;-) LOVE this beer!

Yay for Finnish smoked beer! This one has a milder taste than Schlenkerla but pleasant and good nonetheless.

On draft at Villi Wäinö. Pours dark brown with no head. Aroma of malt, caramel and smoke. Flavor of subtle chocolate at first with smoke in the finish. A little thinner than I would have liked. (Rated 2011/04/24)

Bottle thx to deft, cons. 2010-11-20 Göteborg AR: sour smokey, damp birch wood, sap, sweat AP: dark black, 2 cm beige diminishing head F: vailla, smokey, sweet & sour sauce, sap, watery feeling
