Brown Angel was designed to have three distinct levels: a dark brown backbone with notes of chocolate and coffee resulting from the use of 1500 pounds of Maris Otter malt, aggressive American hops (Amarillo and Columbus) provide bitterness and some citrus, while a more delicate floral finish is achieved from the use of the classic English hop, East Kent Goldings. This is NOT your old school brown, but rather a sexy American interpretation. At 40IBUs and 7% Alcohol it goes down sneaky fast.

Brown pour, large off white head. Great pine Aroma, soft soapy Aroma, some subtle citrus, and some decent herby cereals. Good mouth feel, solid carb. Finish is nutty, with some subtle pine aromas and carnage cereals. A quality brown ale.

Off white creamy head stayed on a very dark brown, finely effervescent body. Big malty aroma with demerara, dark fruits & dark spirits. Medium bodied, creamy, minimal carbonation & spritely on the back. Malty to the fore with dark sugar, smoked hints & berries with a hoppy citrusy back. Good one

Refrigerated brown bomber from FlandersNed poured into an English pint glass. Clear medium brown with medium beige head. Aroma is evergreen hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and thick small-bubble lacing. Taste is evergreen hops, caramel malt, and floral hops. More like a brown IPA.

650ml from Big Ridge Liquor Store. Tasting with George. Pours a dark brown with a white head. Aroma and taste are caramel, dark fruits, toffee, smokey (especially in the taste). Burnt, stout-ish aftertaste. Excellent!

Another good brown from Clown Shoes. Pours a nice warm dark brown from a bottle, off-white head with lots of lacing. Nice caramel maltiness, a little coffee note, good floral hoppiness with some lasting bitterness. Heard they’re going to retire this one so thought I’d grab a bottle, glad I did. Good beer.
