Black ale with aromas and flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon and roasted malt. The vanilla and cocoa marry nicely, without out-competing each other, to produce a surprisingly well balanced beer. This beer is mildly hoppy, but the cocoa introduces a touch of bitterness. Its colour may be intimidating, but it is a very smooth beer within reach of most beer drinkers. This highly appreciated dessert beer is brewed with organic fair-trade cocoa and first rate vanilla beans.

Black with thin head. Aroma has lots of caramel and vanilla. Flavour is similar but balanced out by heavily roasted malts and dark chocolate.

19/1/2019. Bottle from Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds shared at the second Kesgrave 50/50 bottle share. Pours very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and dark fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Dry, roasted, bitter finish. Very good.

Black, small beige head. Aroma has coffee, chocolate, hints of vanilla, boozy notes. Coffee flavour, roast and a little licorice. Some cocoa too and slightly boozy warmth. Lasting coffee bitterness. Rating #6000.

Bottle. Nice creamy tan head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, cocoa, vanilla, coffee and hops. Sweet vanilla finish. Nice.

Bottle from Tienda de la Cerveza. Pours pitch black. Nose is coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, toast. Palate is dark chocolate, toast, soy sauce. Really good for a 6.5% stout
