Long time want ! Newest batch bottle at home Pours blackest black , big brown foam Smell is coffe, burnt malts Very bitter abd hopy , thick , yet light drinkability . Low carbo , has some sweetness to it as well .. Very very unique Ooooooooooow YEAH ! I need more of this , plus i cant wait for black note ! rerate ; 2 y vintage . Still to bitter for an Imperial stout ( to me personally ) but mouthfeel is correct, perfect carbo , tones of chocolate (cacao ) and coffee ( very mild ) , roasted malts and fairly complex . I supose bitterness will melow out even more after ageing another 2 years . I assume by than the beer should be on its peek to me

Bottle Courtesy Camons. Creamy lightbrown excellent fully lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and moderate hoppy wonderfull aroma. Vanilla nicely present. Heavy bitter very roasted flavor with nice coffee and vanilla notes. long heavy bitter nice finish. Creamy palate. World class brew.

Bouteille 12oz, courtoisie de Hogtownharry ou Blankboy. De couleur noire et opaque. Nez de chocolat noir, de café noir, de malt rôti aux notes fumées (fumée de bois), moyen de caramel toffee, léger d’alcool doux et de mélasse ainsi qu’avec des notes fruitées (cerises, prunes et raisins), de réglisse noire et de houblon herbeux. Ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture très riche, crémeuse et sirupeuse. Goût fruité (cerises noires, raisins vineux, léger de prunes) aux petites notes boisées, léger de réglisse noire avec des notes de vanille ainsi que quelques traces de chocolat au lait (faibles notes lactiques) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute rapidement un goût de chocolat noir et de malt rôti (à la limite du brûlé et avec quelques faibles notes fumées), moyen de mélasse avec des notes de carmael toffee. Parallèlement, l’on retrouve, et ce jusqu’en finale, un goût d’alcool moyen et réchauffant ainsi qu’une amertume de houblon herbeux et d’un goût de café espresso (une progression croissante vers la finale. Post-goût moyennement amer et aux notes sèches, composé de rôti, d’alcool moyen, de chocolat noir et de café avec un léger goût fruité (moût de cerises et de raisins, pelures de prunes) ainsi qu’avec des notes de fumée de bois.

2010 Vintage Aroma is a balanced blend of chocolate, roast and a touch of alcohol. There is a bit of oxidation and soy sauce creeping into this beer. A touch of dark fruit, mainly cherry and prune. There is a bit of a molasses and burnt caramel note as well. Pours a deep black with a thick mocha head that recedes steadily leaving a nice film on the edges. Flavor has rich, sweet chocolate notes with some lighter roast character. Some hints of dark caramel present as well. Some low dark fruit character, similar to dark cheers and prunes. A solid bitterness helps balance the beer, though by this time the hop flavor has faded. Some alcohol spice in the finish. Some oxidation, and in particular soy sauce, is starting to show; as it warms the soy sauce fades away and takes on more of a sherry note. The roast character takes on a touch of a smoked meat character in the finish. Mouthfeel is full bodied and chewy. Carbonation is fairly low which only helps to make this beer seem thick. The alcohol is present and warming but quite clean. Astringency is low and almost non existent. Overall it's a nice beer, but I would like to have tried it next to a fresh version. I don't know that I would let this go more than two years as its already starting to show its age in a bit of a negative way. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 ounce bottle. Bottled on 10/22/12. Opague black color topped by a medium-sized creamy brown head. Intense bittersweet chocolate and espresso roasted malt aroma. Rich, silky bittersweet roasted malt flavor. Some licorice and currants emerge. Complex and smoky with resiny hops and a chewy thick espresso finish. Wonderful to behold. You must seek this out and drink it.

Aroma of rich roasted malts, dark chocolate, sweet caramel, light coffee notes, and abit of alcohol. Flavor of roasted malts, rather bitter, coffee, dark chocolate, some piney / grapefruitly hope. Full body, soft carbonation, hides the ABV very well, lasting dry bitter finish. Very nice brew. 131212

Bottle pour to snifter. Thick, dark black color; sparse, but persisent mocha head. Very rich and luscious on the palate; roasted malt; espresso coffee, dark chocolate. Tastes like a big ABV without beating you up side of the head with booze. I need more!

Aroma: It is roasty and sweet, with coffee, chocolate, caramel, brown sugar, and hoppy undertones
Appearance: It pours a thick, dark brown-black color with a small medium brown head
Flavor: The taste is a little bit less sweet then the nose would have suggested, there's still quite a bit of roast, with a little smoke, and it finishes roast, and medium bitter, with just a little bit of booze
Palate: The body is medium-full, it is creamy and smooth, has a fairly soft (leaning toward average) carbonation, a touch of heat (but remains dangerously drinkable at 10.5%), and has a long, dry finish
Overall Impression: Thanks Kramer! I can't believe I haven't rated this one before, but this is a heck of a beer. They figured out how to meld the roast, smoke, sweet malts, and hop bitterness together pretty much perfectly to make a world class beer. What else is there to say? This beer is great!

Bottle(kindly delivered by jonas!!!): Literally black with a stable and creamy yellowish to tanned head, almonds, rye bread, coffee, roasted malt and sweet caramel in the otherwise dry bitter nose; velvet MF, full bodied, solid solid dry bitter flavour; lingering dry fruity-toasty and nutty finish. Gorgeous stuff…
