Bottle (no English on the label) with a best before of 12/12 via a trade. Pours with a very deep brown body and a thick tan head. Aromas of leather (saddle hide), smoke, cherry, prunes, dark fruit, molasses, oatmeal (prepared for breakfast), brown sugar. Not as smokey as the 80% malt I pretend like I can read in Swedish from the label (is that what it says?!). Flavor is much more smokey than the nose. Camp fire and ash. A touch of molasses. Really sooty. Perhaps a bit watery on the palate. Flint/mineral notes in the finish. Not really my thing (smoked beer in general). This seems like a light and watery one. Light carbonation.

A deep dark porter with a thin dark brown head. A nice powdery chocolate aroma with light smokeyness and dark fruits. In mouth, a smooth bitter chocolate with light peated notes, metallic notes, earthy and bitter, like coffee grinds. Quite good. Bieropholie import, BB March 2012.

50cl bottle from Systembolaget. Poured almost black with a nice beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, bamberg smoke and dark roasted coffee. Flavour is roasted malt, smoke detected in flavour also, hint of chocolate. Ash in finish, quite dry. I would have liked even more smoke in the flavor, bit too dry for my taste. Still, an enjoyable porter.

bottle - Pours dark brown with a small tan head. The aroma is full of smoke with roast malt as well. The body of this brew seems light for a porter. There’s certainly ample smoke presence in the flavor though, mixing well with the roast malt porter profile. Very good.
