A new hero sweeps in from the frozen north, wielding tremendous cold-forged hop power. A generous proportion of concentrated cryo hops showcases blasts of bright, clean citrus and fresh fruit pulp flavor with a sharp, bright finish.

The cryo hop pellets we used to create Cryo-Hero are processed to consolidate the lupulin -- which preserves the oils and resins for an even bigger showcase of Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic, and Centennial. Every pound of cryo hops packs the punch of two pounds of the regular hops we use. The huge hop character and massive aroma complement a light, smooth golden beer.

Pours clear gold with a white head. The aroma is of resin and tropical fruit. The flavor is big on the hops, resinous, and pleasantly fruity. It's medium bodied and overall pretty solid without really standing out.

12 ounce can from Woodman's Appleton, 7/30/19. This promises bitter, it better fucking deliver. Hazy orange, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of oranges, tropical fruit, pale malt. Taste is resin, dank, mandarins, pepper, pale malt. Medium bodied, moderate bitterness. Not the hop bomb it promises, so maybe just a way to save some bucks and make some more cash with a BS new tick? Just kidding and all in good fun. Solid beer.

OK, another stupid ass can of $2 IPA from vintage and another hero from rev; a double FTW wammy. I got to learn to pass these bastards up when I see them, I don't really do it for the tick anymore because I hate the flavor of these straight up ass IPA thangs. Anyway the taste is bitterly astringent just like any other hero shitcan. Come on, how many beers are you gonnah make with the exact same taste and name them 54 different beers? Somebody, administration, please control these IPA. I am so tired of these things they almost make me gag. Its so fricken bitter and mouth coating, it probably should be listed as a imperial IPA. Terrible finish, ruined my taste buds for an hour afterward.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 4/3/2019. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy medium golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, toasted biscuit, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, toasted biscuit, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, toasted biscuit, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly crisp/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth, easy, and fairly crisp to drink with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish; not aggressive. Awesome Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic, and Centennial profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a great bready malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example as expected. Another great addition to the Hero Series.

Can, from Malt & Mold. Pours clear golden with large foamy off-white head, faint grassy hops aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter hoppy taste, thin body, long bitter finish. Classical American IPA, not sure what value the cryo hops have added.
