From my brother: pours amber with a beige head. Aroma is caramel, maple, with slight hoppiness. Taste is lightly bitter, maple syrup, somewhat sweet. Not bad. Not great.

Bottle share courtesy of Steve H. Based on the name, was expecting big, in your face maple. Not so. Much more subdued than that. Faint maple in the aroma, again maple notes accent the malty body. It’s in there, but you have to look for it.

Bottle - Sweet dark sugars and maple. Cloudy dark amber with a decent white head. Sweet dark syrup, light bitter roasty notes and dark sugars. Very sweet and decadent but not a big body.

On tap at the Mule Bar.
They poured this into a slim chalice.
The appearance was a dark copper almost brown color with a thin white foamy head that dissipated immediately. Messy lace.
The aroma had a big sweet maple up front. Nice ample nuttiness. Smooth caramel malts.
The flavor leads maple to nutty sweet with a semi-sticky malty to maple syrupy aftertaste running into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with an exceptionally smooth semi-sticky feel. Low carbonation.
Overall, practically one of the smoothest American Strong ales that I ever had. Yes, I know that’s due to the maple, but hey, gotta give great credit to this one.

Tap. Mule Bar, Winooski, VT. Deep amber colour. Light haze. Firm ring of beige head. Nose has barley sugar sweets. Some maple syrup. Light candied fruit. Some dried fruit. Taste is sugary sweet. Some vine fruit dryness. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium body. Finish loses the sweetness and gets fruity and vinous. Decent.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with medium beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is toffee, wood, maple. Medium mouth, caramel, pure sugar, boozy, good.

Bottle at RBWG Asheville Grand Tasting. Pours lightly hazy amber with a bubbly head. Nose of lightly oxidized malts, bread, toffee. Light to medium sweet flavor with awkward bready malts, mild leafy bitterness, brown sugar and golden raisins. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Sweet finish, more oxidized malts, sugary bread. So so.
