Bottle at Cask Pub & Kitchen, London on 27 November 2010. Thanks Nate2G for the share! Pours black with a pale brown head of foam. Richly woody aroma, notes of fallen autumn leaves after rain. Deeply pungent in-mouth; citric notes front-of-mouth; bittersweet finish and a zingy texture. Wonderful experience. Well crafted: flavours all come to the fore without the alcohol being tasted first - essential attributes of a high-strength beer.

Bottle. Blackish beer with a nice brown head. Chocolate and toffee aroma with light coffee. Chocolate and coffee flavor with toffee and light wine. Medium-plus bodied. Coffee and toffee lingers with chocolate and light vanilla.

330 bottle c&c from Berkeley Bowl West. Cool place to get beer. GD plastic cork. Pours really black with a coarsely foamy dark tan head. Aroma is sort of grapey coffee. Full bodied; chewy carbonation. Flavor is very espresso, going to grapey. This is very interesting. Certainly different from anything else I can recall. And there is no impression of heat. Deadly. Dangerous. Delicious. Whoof.

37,5cl Bottle, a gift from Plovmand, thanks a lot for this gem bro! Black colour, thin beige head. Aroma of bitter chocolate, pralines, light vinous notes, coffee, hard roasted malts, tobacco, light smoke. Flavour is sweet, bitter chocolate, hard roasted malts, light ashy, red wine is evident but very subtle, coffee, hard roasted bitter finish with some hops and a bit of alcohol. Fullbodied, soft carbonation. Great stuff.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Very black, minimal head. Tarry nose. Huge bodied with potent flavours of grain, aniseed and tar. Slighyt notes of oak, hugely bitter finish. Massive and intense, a bit edgy and off balance, still interesting.

Bottle at Borefts Beer Festival 2010, courtesy of Mikkel and crew, thanks guys. This one is flat, a basic imperial stout with a finish of burgundy. Pleasant enough.

bottle, sampled in a mikkeller glass at home, celebrating having enjoyed 66cl hopping frog doris the destroyer. pitch dark when settled, poured dark clear brown. Head is fantastic, brown lower down, and light brown higher up. dry roasted malty aroma with "just enough" hops to make it very interesting. flavor is flowery hoppy, roasted grainy, red wine, faint wood. actually pretty interesting - You can clearly taste the grapes. somehow they do not add sourness but rather a fresh grape juice like note to the flavor. Overall leaves the impression of being not that strong, and a bit like lemonade. Serve this to the uninformed and they’ll get themselves seriously drunk ;-). The fruity notes (probably both from hops and the wine barrels) makes me think of black and blue berries. This is pretty deep stuff.. I am very grateful that i get to taste it. (entire bottle to myself, HAH). some of the flavor profile leads me to think of imp. IPA, but the rest is a pretty solid imp. stout. While not as balanced and well composed as e.g. yeti imp stout, this one is very unique and one of those beers You’ll be sorry to miss out on.
