Originally a Wild Dog release commemorating our 10th anniversary. Double Dog Double Pale Ale became here to stay in 2009. Could you control such a beast?
This is a big beer that calls for equally big foods. Flavor notes: Citrus hops with sweet malt and subtle alcohol burn (like a kiss on the cheek) Pairs with: Extra sharp aged Cheddar and stinky Blue cheese; smoked brisket; spicy foods with chili or cayenne pepper; earthy desserts like carrot cake.

Re-rate 5/18/12: Bottle sample at a Beer & Beyond strong beers tasting at Norma Jean. Clear amber with a white head. Aroma of hops, piney, citric and slightly stale, malt and a bit of caramel. Sweet malty flavor with caramel, a bit of honey, fruity notes and a strong, hoppy, piney bitterness in the finish with a bit of alcohol. Medium to full-bodied. 7/3/7/3/14=3.4

Bottle 33cl. Red colour with a toasted non persistant head due to the alcohol that this beer has. Aroma to fresh hops and strong bitter taste from start to finish. Quietly malty and sweet. A big surprise with this beer.

Clear orange with an off-white head. Aroma is quite sweet malty, caramel, alcohol and rather hoppy - pine and grapefruit. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and bitter finish with warming alcohol. 280210

Bottle at Brewdog Aberdeen. It pours clear red-amber with a thin foamy off-white head. The nose is pine, resin, orange and sweaty socks. The taste is full of wood, resin, massive hop bite, astringent, orange, mango, leather and stale bread with obvious alcohol. It is rough around the edges and aggressive in the mouth. Crazy stuff.

Bottle @ Uni bar, Århus. Pours dark amber with awhite head. Aroma of bitter hops, pine, alchohol. Taste is stong bitter hops, again pine and grapefruit, some caramel, and some alchohol in the finish. Medium to full body, middle carbonation, bitter finish. 070511
