Draught at the source: pours black with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, dark chocolate. Taste is moderately bitter and not overly sweet. Pretty conventional, but refreshing in a world of pastry.

Bottle, at the source. Pours inky black with very small frothy tan head that was gone fast, dark chocolate aroma, low carbonation, lightly sweet dark chocolate taste, thin body, long finish. It felt less thick than the oak aged version.
