Can: Hazy golden-amber with a chunky beige head. Orange, tangerine-peel scent. Taste is sweet and a little sticky orange malt, mixed citrus. Solid peel bittering, a little resin. A really smooth and easy drinker. Very nice.

From a cold can, why do I keep trying this stupid ass IPA style? Very rarely a good tasting beer. Must be the innate beer ticker in me. Has a very pretty green metallic tab on the top. Firs mouth-feel is a big swig of very bitter thicker beer, if you want to call hoppy bitter, then this is very ravenously bitter. Terrible, bitter almost astringent happy BS airplanes flying all over this landing strip. Whew, so big, so alky; alky begins to make its nullifying effects on my brain. Its a 7% but it could pass as a 9%; a trippel IPA, hehehehhhehh. Forget bout a terrible veggie effects session, takes this and multiply by 2. Hop man on front of can looks like an old robot movie-star from the fifties. Look, if you like IPA, ignore my numbers, if they are low, that means you'll love it.

12 ounce can from Whole Foods Tosa. Hazy orange, thin fizzy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of tropical fruit, pale malt, a bit of onion. Taste is mango, pineapple, papaya, lime zest, pale malt. Medium bodied, moderate lingering bitterness.

Can. Lightly cloudy golden body with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of citrus, floral hops, orange, toasted grain, pineapple, The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Clean, balanced. Not especially assertive and a bit sweet, but tastes of orange, lemon, citrus, toasted bread, light floral. Nice.

Can. Pours faintly cloudy golden yellow with foamy white head, sweetish malt aroma, low carbonation, mildly bitter piney taste, smooth body, long medium bitter finish. A mellow, decent IPA.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Redstone Liquors, Stoneham. Appearance is lightly hazy (fine white particulates) yellow-orange with minimal sparkle, massive 4+ finger width rocky, foamy white head with decent retention and fair sudsy lacing. Aroma is dank resin over citrus. Taste is lightly bitter dank resin with mild citrus, late cracker malt. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with foamy texture, average carbonation and mild bittersweet finish as taste. Overall, the aromas and flavors are a bit more muted than the other IPA's in this "hero pack." Not bad, but doesn't stand out.

Another very good beer in the hero series although this one isn't quite as good as the Galaxy version. The Hops in this one are good though not as fresh as in the galaxy and sweetness is more prominent than the Galaxy so it's not quite as balanced. Still very good and quite drinkable.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 8/8/2017. Pours slightly hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, honey, toasted bread, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, honey, toasted bread, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, honey, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance. Slight lingering hop astringency through the glass, but not an issue. Moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7.2%. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink, despite the fairly aggressively bitter/drying finish. Very vibrant and dank hops that feel pretty earthy, green, and fresh; with a nice bready malt backing, with no residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering.

12oz can. Filtered orange body. Foamy white head. Nice modern hops tones. The Mandarina and Ctira are probably just as pronounced as the Amarillo. I would probably love this beer if they didn’t add dextrose to it to boost the ABV. As it is it’s still a pretty solid offering, just too sugary for me, too big for what it is., lacks the mouthfeel that I want.
