Ale Punched with Sake Yeast and Rice. This Raging Bull'uva Double-ish IPA is punched with Sake Yeast and Rice, then hopped-up for a cold-clip of counter-balanced bitterness... it just don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing!

Quart bottle. Does on need 32oz of 9% beer? I mean, 22oz and 40oz seem like nice enough quantities. Pours a clear dim golden with a medium head. Very traditional golden beer and head appearance. Aroma is strong with a very clear and clean maltiness. Some undistinct American hops. Flavor has a fruit bite with a malt biscuit backbone. Aftertaste has dry biscuit fruitness. Interesting beer. Lots of clean stuff going on.

$8.79 quart bottle from Wine Warehouse. Pours gold with a small white head. Aroma is lemon zest, minor orange, peach. Flavor is bitter peach, apricot, orange, earth, glue - similar to some saki aftertastes, grass, minor pine. Nice. Glad I like it... won't have a problem finishing this one.

Very interesting tasty beer. Aroma is fruity pineapple and sweet some caramel and Spice. Appearance is a clear gold Amber with an off-white smallish long lasting head and a little lace. Flavor is bittersweet with some Piney resin and malt. Kind of a sake finish good stuff.

Sampled from the tap at ABR 2017. Pours a clear gold with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a bit of a sake rice note to it with some grains and grass supporting. Flavor has a bit of grassy sake with some grains backing.

Quart bottle. Pours a clear orange hue with a medium white head. A big tropical grainy nose. Fresh fruity hops, sweet, clear rice and sweet sake elements. Very vibrant, sweet, smooth. Great. I really dig this.

Quart bottle, sent to my from Lagunitas. The beer is slightly ruddy, just a shade off the usual golden ale color. A bubbly head that dwindles to some thin suds. The smell has a lot of zest to it, and those California hops are right behind it in the nose. The taste shows every bit of its 9% alcohol, and why they stuck in a dangerously-sized quart bottle, I dunno. But the hops take the fore, with a big sour hit of grapefruit. It's also sharp, aided by prickly effervescence. I'm guessing the rice basically adds to the beer's strength without affecting the taste. It's a tasty, big beer, but it comes up pretty close to a malt liquor more than any impression of sake. In sume, it's a big beer. Hoppy, but not an imperial IPA, nor even in the style of an IPA. But a big beer to stand by itself.
