Brown 330ml bottle, best before 6th March 2010, reviewed while drinking it, 12th Sept 2010, some 6 months after its best by date. Poured into a Gordon Finest Gold thistle shaped glass (well it is a Scotch). Deep tanned head on top of a dark red/brown body, looks good in the thistle glass. Lacing held on well to the glass as the head faded. Sweet malt molasses fill the nose, almost treacle in smell, lets say toffee apple aromas. As the beer warmed I detected some smouldering woodlike smells, Christmas Winter Warmer style. The taste is very simular to the smell, sweet and treacle like in flavour, but not a sickly over sweetness. A fireside warmth sort of beer. Very drinkable for 8% ABV, alcohol is well hidden in the rich body, one of the better Belgian Scottish styled beers.

330 bottle via Belgianshop. Pours a garnet brown with tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of sour mash/malt, caramel and candy. Roasted malt and caramel tones. Slightly sweet. Full body but not overly heavy. Could drink any time. A good beer

Taste a little like sour mash and caramel at the same time. Definitely sweet, with strong alcohol taste and some dark berries if my tastes do not deceive me. Body pretty heavy. Pours with medium carbonation, a little head. Big thanks to Hogtown Harry for this bottle.

A dark copper brown beer with a weak, beige head. Aroma is rich, sweet and full of dark, dried fruits, raisins, plums, rasberries, nice roastiness and some herbs, also hint of anis. Taste is also quite sweet, but it chances quickly more balanced due to roastiness and herbal bitterness, also plums and syrup. Full bodied with only hint of sugary stickyness, nice and slippery to drink. Interesting and complex beer with mix of nuancess and styles, still balanced.

Bottle from Beers of Europe
Very dark amber tawny, some haze, frothy slightly off-white head that dissipates to thin layer.
Aroma of dark, sweet caramel malts, some fruits - raisins, bit of yeast, alcohol only slightly noticeable. Not complex but pleasant.
Taste - sweet dark caramel malts, some nuts, fruits (raisins), slight hint of bitterness, alcohol noticeable but well hidden...mellow flavours
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, smooth. Finish - main taste, rapid finish with a bit of residual bitterness.
Overall - A good, subtle, solid, mellow scotch ale.
