La Scotch Silly, se classe dans la catégorie des bières qu’un savoir-faire acquis au fil du temps a su élever au-dessus de la mêlée. Sa robe, d’un beau rouge cuivré, est assortie d’une mousse beige. Son nez complexe fait penser à la brioche aux raisins secs, aux fruits confits et à la framboise fraîche. Généreuse et ample en bouche, presque liquoreuse, elle évoque le miel et le caramel avant de s’achever sur des notes de pruneau et de malt torréfié.

330 ml bottle. Unclear brown, small head. Caramel, brown sugar, cola, chocolate, booze. Very sweet. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, sticky sweet finish. Looks like Cola and it‘s sweet like cola. Not good.

Misty chestnut brown. Small off-white head. Nose: dried fruit, caramel, vinous, esters. Medium plus body. Taste: medium sweet, malty, fruity, estery. Caramel, nuts. Low to light bitterness. Rather simple still pleasant

From the bottle. Brown with a creamy, light beige crown. Aroma of banana, toffee, a bit earthy. Taste is sweet up front, tart near the end with a lingering berry sourness. Is it supposed to be this tart or is it beginning to go off? Undertones of wood and vanilla. Body is medium, carbonation is soft. Not bad really but unusual for a Scotch Ale

Bottle from Crafty Bottle, Lincoln. Deep amber colour with a thick tan head. Aroma is whiskey and caramel. Taste caramel sweet with hints of light bitterness. Medium body lots of alcohol.

Sampled @ Zythos Bier Festival 2018. A clear orange brown beer with a small white head. Aroma of dark reddish malt, wood and caramel. Taste of caramelish malt, red fruits, wood.

Pours a rich dark brown from a bottle, some lacing. Nice sweet caramel and toffee aroma, light oak. Flavor is big dark candi sugar, some caramel but leaning toward cola, maybe more like a birch beer with some vanilla notes. It's not exactly those things, it's like those things. Pretty good beer.
