No head but rim over pale copperish coloured beer. Fresh pale & toasted malts, nice aroma enlived by fine aromahops. Also some grain and/or grass. Toasted, waffles gone too long, gardenherbs in the flavour. Well-carbonated, medium bodied. Absolutely like the nose. If the rest had been up to that standard...Earlier Rating: 8/10/2004 Total Score: 3.6More orange than blond, end totally flunky; good yellowish head, slowly retreating. Nose is lactic, roasted cookies, even some butterscotch... finishes citrussy. Quite bitter initial taste, not hoppy, but citrus-zeste like. Gets sweeter afterwards, without ever becoming really malty. In the end, there’s even a whiff of aroma-hops. Finish is very good & balanced. Medium bodied, slight creaminess; finish feels, as said under ’taste’, just right, as if enriched with freshly pressed fruit juice. It’s more than OK. When the "Mars Especial" came to supplant the old "Maartse", I was less than happy. This first fully new post-Willy C. beer, promesses, however.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, orange-golden colour with a blond and tall foamy head. Citrus-fruity, slightly zesty cara-malty aroma. Sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Cara-malty base with citric notes of tangerine and a touch of drying herbal hops; sweet-bitter malty and slightly fruity and spicy finish. Quite good. 09.X.11

Bottle (not sure, might be draught) @ Moeder Lambic. Very yellow to orange colour with a vast white head. Smells mandarine, fruity, refreshing. Tastes as i expected from the smell. This beer would be best enjoyed during the summer, outside and when it’s warm.

Sept 2011. A dark amber ale with a thick creamy light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light sulfur notes, dark fruits, weird. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with candy sugar, light curacao, oily mouth feel, still decent after close to 10 years. Bottle from Bièropholie.

Bottle at Botteltje bar in Ostend, Belgium. A golden/amber coloured pour with a decent white head on top. Fruity, sweet, Belgian aroma. Tastes fruity, quite sweet, malty, honey. I’ve also had this on tap a few times, really nice Belgian ale, this is almost a Belgian session beer.
