Brewed with a “heelch” (that means “a lot” in Boontling”) of Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade hops, our double IPA has a palate pleasing bitterness that is artfully balanced with a full-bodied malt foundation. With a deep color of polished brass and a nose that sings of pink grapefruit and redwood needles, the rich biscuit-like malt flavors are intertwined with hints of vanilla, mangos, and peppercorns leading to a deep, warming finish.

Pours a deep golden-copper. Aroma has some floral and some fruit elements. Flavor is strongly bitter hops, with a lot of sweetness. Not my favorite approach to a double IPA--I’d rather have more citrus and less of the biscuity sweetness.

Bottle from Seoul Plaza. Aroma pineapple, fruity hoppiness, then also quite strong caramelly biscuity malt. Clear deep golden colour. Good sized head, moderate duration. Taste has relatively moderate amount of hops, both in terms of bitterness and flavour, pineapple and citruses showing among the general fruitiness. Also moderate body, with moderate caramel malt flavours. It is apparent that the journey overseas impacted the quality of this beer. But it still remains an enjoyable one.

Orange/copper color with nice white head. Nose is piney and biscuity, hop fruitiness as well, mango I guess, but not too much. Taste has more pines, nice residual sweetness, toasty malt body, warming finish with more mango and citrus, bitterness is not excessive. Sticky mouthfeel, full body, low carbonation. A nice one.

Hazy deep orange golden color with a fine white head. Powerful fruity and hoppy aroma. Thick nice body. A bit oily. Tad sweet and a rich bitterness. Average carbonation. Grapefruity hoppy, tropical fruity and deep malty flavor. Nice powerful ale.

bottle from pivnizub - thanks! Full-bodied, intensively malty with the alcohol discreetly disguised. Lots of aromatic hops that add citrus flavours and some pine.

Light gushing to very good, dense & fine yellow head over hazy ochre-orange beer; shards of lace. Very cakey & fruity hops, caramel, maltsyrup, but also citrus, ureum, passion fruit, melon, overripe banana, etc. Bitter, on a sweeter, cakey or biscuity background. Bitter (hop)oils, resin, pine; vegetable bitterness and fruit as citrus (tangerine, grapefruit) or preserved fruit on syrup. Long-lasting flavours; Very oily-slick, rather well-bodied; bit fiery feel, highly carbonated. Quite a good one.

West coast ’imperial IPA’ with medium thick, coarse, sticky and very stable head staying closed all the time, over a deep and warm orange blonde robe, clear with very little sparkling. Strong aroma of grapefruit, the white underside of fresh orange peel, mango, passion fruit, cognac, vanilla, freshly grated ginger, vermouth, rose petals, paprika, walnuts, strong old cheese (probably ageing of the hops), cumin seed. I could not stop myself from sniffing the glass. In the mouth: totally refreshing onset, a basket of exotic fruits, orange and apple, initially sharpish carbonation, slick, rounded and somewhat oily mouthfeel, honeyish sweet malts in the background, from the middle onwards overpowered by a citrussy, resinous, spicy hop bitterness, dry and very long but not too much ’bite’, very elegant and balanced and leaving just enough room for a lingering fruity sweetness and warming but very agreeable, brandy-like alcohol. An IPA of great finesse and elegance, I have fallen in love with this style a long time ago and I’m happy to find these beers are slowly but steadily penetrating the Belgian beer landscape as well.

@Yardhouse, Honolulu. Dull amber, sweet and hoppy, lots of alcihol...ok a basic iipa but w/o any nuance or brightness.
