Brewed with a “heelch” (that means “a lot” in Boontling”) of Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade hops, our double IPA has a palate pleasing bitterness that is artfully balanced with a full-bodied malt foundation. With a deep color of polished brass and a nose that sings of pink grapefruit and redwood needles, the rich biscuit-like malt flavors are intertwined with hints of vanilla, mangos, and peppercorns leading to a deep, warming finish.

Pours a clear golden-amber colour with a big frothy yellowish head that stays long and creates nice foamy-creamy lace with designs. Aromas of thick green grass with lots of citrus fruits (tangerine, oranges), all with caramel malts. The mouthfeel starts off wet, medium-bodied, and end with just a little dryness. The bitterness builds up with time. Lots of oranges and grapefruit zest in the taste over cereal malts. Goes down well, but just not my type of DIPA.

Bottle from the LCBO. Slightly hazy orange gold with a big off white head that lingers and leaves some lace. Nose is grapefruit and pine with some spice and tropical fruit. Nice and bitter throughout with a good supporting toffee and honey base. Mango and tangerine feature in the finish. Medium slick mouth with average carbonation and a long bitter finish. Balanced with some interesting layers.

Bottle: Pours a dark honey golden color and topped with a monster creamy beige head. The hop aroma is thick and potent; citrus, pine, floral, and tea leaves. Dank comes to mind. Piney and resin hop flavors at first, finishing with a little sweeter citrus and caramel note. Some bready malt notes. Lingering bitters. Lip smacking. Potent hops and a syrupy sweet malty thing that hints at big brother barley wine. Little waves of sheet lacing stack up on my goblet… time to sit back and enjoy; this is a solid IIPA.
