Brewed with a “heelch” (that means “a lot” in Boontling”) of Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade hops, our double IPA has a palate pleasing bitterness that is artfully balanced with a full-bodied malt foundation. With a deep color of polished brass and a nose that sings of pink grapefruit and redwood needles, the rich biscuit-like malt flavors are intertwined with hints of vanilla, mangos, and peppercorns leading to a deep, warming finish.

(On tap @ Lilla Puben, Kalmar, Sweden, Oct 9 2015) Pours a hazy medium orange with a big frothy whitish head and lace. Aroma lots of sweet caramel malt, some resinous pine, dull citrus and tropical notes, a bit grassy, not very punchy in the nose. On the palate, a sweet caramel malt and bread core again, pine resin, citrus rind and pith, touch tropical, leading to a slightly spicy finish with moderate hop bitterness, alcohol heat and lots more malt. Aftertaste has some astringency that dries the sweetness slightly. Medium-full and chewy in the mouth with creamy carb and aforementioned booze. A bit big and malty and not so bright and hoppy, perhaps a bit faded but also not my preferred DIPA style. Not bad.

12oz bottle. When your regular IPA is 7%, you’d think the IIPA would clock in a bit higher than 8.7%. Filtered copper orange body. Well brewed, classical IIPA. Piney citrus rind hop tones. Pretty heavy and bold. Drinks and taste sort of like a Barleywine. Not bad, pretty good really, in a classic Anderson Valley style, nothing really modern about it, but quality all the way.

Bottle at Orsted Ol Bar CPH, Day 3 of RBESG ’15, 22/08/15. Hazed orange amber with a decent light beige cap that retains well. Nose is caramel malt, earthy hop, light spice trace, bitter orange, bread dough. Taste comprises light pine, caramel malt, orange pith, tangerine, mango. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with earthy hop strokes. Ok DIPA, kind of an old skool malt driven # but not so bad.

Bottle: Poured a hazy orangey color ale with a nice foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy hops with bitter earthy hops is pleasant enough. Taste is a mix of citrusy hops with medium level of bitterness and light grainy malt with some residual sugar notes. Body is full with good carbonation. Not bad overall but malt bill is slightly off with a tad too much residual sugar notes and too much bitterness.

Bastante buena e intensa. Ligeros recuerdos a la G.D Hércules. Para repetir sin duda.
