Bottle 0,33 ltr: Very dark brown coloured brew with smokey and American dry/bitter taste. Quite nice combination Bamberg meets USA in Dutch Zeeland.

From bottle @ BBF 2010. Deep dark brown color. Beechwood and smoked cheese aroma. A less outspoken smoked cheese flavor. Good beer, Emelisse is really making progress.

Bottle thanks to jmgreenuk cheers John; dark brown pour with thin creamy beige head, smokey peaty Whisky aroma, taste had a lot of phenols coming through, hint of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate but they are struggling to be noticed over the medicinal action, not a style of beer for me.

Rating #2700. 33cl bottle. Near black color, thick light brown head. Peaty nose, smoke, sweetness, roasted malt. Nice aroma, like the strong peaty notes. Flavor has tar, smoke, lactose sweetness, mild coffee notes and roastedness. Finish is long with smoke lingering. smooth, oily mouthfeel. Solid.

--- Beer merged from original tick of Smoked Porter on 15 May 2018 at 14:36 - Score: 8

Bottle, at Haand Festival. An almost clear one, dark brown in color and with a small, beige head on top. The aroma is peaty and roasted, with some coffee and toast, and hints of chocolate. There’s some sweetness in the flavor, which as the aroma leans heavily towards peat and roasted malts. Some coffee too. Dry on the palate, full-bodied and with a pleasant carbonation. Lasting finish. A tasteful one, but I prefer a regular porter or a smoked porter with normal smoked malt, not the peated kind. 130525

Great beer. Body of smoked malt and some sweet caramelised malt. With some nice hops to bring balance.

330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Smoky aroma, lots of peat, a touch of shoe polish. Taste is dry dark malty, intense peat note, tarmac, bitter hoppy overtones. Extreme peat note - I like it.
