Bottle, 7.5%. The aroma has a little aroma hop to begin with, but quickly turns into coffee and roasted barley notes. Almost black colour, clear reddish shine. Big light brown head, fairly stable. The flavour starts off nicely roasted. Then comes some sweet liquorice, some alcohol, a good bitterness. A little creamy flavour as well. A good beer, but a little rough on the alcohol.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled 3/5/2012. Pours fairly pitch black color with a nice 1-2 finger fairly dense tn head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of big milk chocolate, caramel, coffee, roasted malt, cream, toast, biscuit, and slight herbal hops. Very nice aromas with great strength and balance. Taste of milk chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, coffee, cream, toast, light pine, and citrus. Some decent pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, caramel, cream, and toast on the finish for a bit. Very nice balance of roasted flavors with the lactose; and a good bitterness/sweetness balance gives this zero cloying sweetness. Medium carbonation and body; with a nice creamy and fairly slick mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming after the finish. Overall this is a very nice milk stout. Nice robust and balanced flavors; and quite smooth to drink. Maybe a bit too much hop character for a milk stout, but a damn good offering nonetheless.

Small brown head. Opaque black body goes dark brown at edges. Earthy chocolatey sugary aroma with roasty caramelly resiny notes. Dry-sweet chocolatey raisin taste with perfumy dusty notes. Fullish body. Mild, soft, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish burnt dusty earthy aftertaste with sooty chocolate and sugar notes. Lovely, balanced, and highly drinkable. (0.355l bottle, Gaasa, Oslo.)

Bottle from Half Time. Pours black with a creamy tan head. Aromas of "milk" and chocolate with smooth burnt malt. Near full bodied. Lactose it is, with chocolate and smooth burnt malt. Finishes towards dry, but the sugar puts on the brakes. It tastes very nice.
