Bonus courtesy of markwise. 12oz bottle pours dark brown with tan head of foam. The aroma has some nice chocolate and then it heads toward earthy malts and an echo of dark roasted malts. The taste is similar with some sweet malts riding into a bit of chocolate and earthiness. In between those notes are slivers of dark roasted malts. Overall the sweetness takes the lead in the flavor profile ahead of the various dark roasted notes.

Bottle at Chriso’s 2012 Pre-GBBF Shindig, London. Pours dark brown with a fine, white foam head. Dusty cocoa nose, a bit of alcohol. Nice, rich flavor with some sugary chocolate. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Medium to heavy sweetness on the finish, some earth, dirt, burnt sugar, moderate roast. Very sweet. Decent overall.

33 cl bottle @ home, bottled on 28.12.2011
Aroma is sweet with oat, some vanilla, sugar and milk chocolate. Flavour is somewhat sweet and slightly tart with milk chocolate, some oat and sugar. Too sweet for me – but that’s what sweet stouts usually are.

355ml bottle

Pours pitch black with a white creamy head. Aroma of roasted and toasty malts, some milky notes, chocolate, coffee and hints of smoke. Taste is quite sweet with some lactic notes, roasted malts, milk chocolate and hints of tartness. Finish is sweetish with some roastiness and chocolate notes. Okay, quite well balanced.

Intensiv, sehr nussig werdend, gut! 10/13/12/10/10/11

Delicious and smooth. First sip is reminiscent of a cup of coffee, and almost tastes as such. Roasty bitterness, but smooth with a hint of sweetness. Tasty, tasty, tasty,,,,,
