Bottle from Dranken Geers. Russet, thin beige head. Some Belgian yeast on aroma. Some syrupy dry malt. It’s not a great dubbel, to be honest. Bit too sweet and the malt tastes as though it hasn’t been fully attenuated. Bit of candy sugar. I’m not against it, nor does it taste nasty, but it’s a little basic maybe. Some butter/toffee.

Bottle. Pours all head. Golden amber color. Aroma of slightly roasted malt with a touch of yeast. Medium dark fruits. Sweet medium fruit flavors. Followed by lightly roasted caramel. Followed by some adequate bitter. This is a pretty good one. Ends a bit sweet, but not over much. A little bitter tends to balance that.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden amber with a slowly collapsing light tan head. Fruity and light yeasty aroma. Flavour is mild roasted malt and mild overripe fruit. Goes into a more sharp fruity flavour before the finish. Ends with a light yeasty note and mild bitterness.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 29 Sep 2007) Reddish brown colour with brief beige head. Malty nose with dark fruit, caramel and brown sugar. Malty taste with notes of dark fruit, prunes, raisins, dark rye bread and a balanced bitter-sweet finish. Balanced and fairly nice.
