50 cl bottle @ HeBF’13
LOT: 062262330102009- BBF - THT - ACDPA 30-11-2017 (wtf)
Aroma is sweet with oaky notes, some vinegar and hints of cherries. Flavour is rather tart and intensive with oaky notes, some vinegar, red wine and sweetish cherries. Also some cranberry juice notes. Quite acidic, the whiskey notes are barely noticeable. Too sweet and too oud bruin, but not bad for this style.

On tap at Beer Temple. Brown colour, no head. Aroma of typical Flemish Brown, brown sugar, balsamic vingegar, vinous, dark fruits. Same goes for the flavour, with the addition of some oak notes, vanilla, tart-bitter finish. OK.

29/06/2013 Ma che siete venuti a fà (tap). Bruna, riflessi rubino-miele di castagno, impenetrabile, schiuma bianca fine, abbondante e persistente. Al naso frutta rossa, alcol, solvente. In bocca malto, ancora frutta rossa, note di botte, alcol, lascia la bocca impiastricciata. Corpo medio-alto, carbonazione leggera. Impegnativa e un po’ sgraziata, si fa fatica a finirla.

Tap at the Kulminator, Antwerp. Poured a dark brown with a frothy white head. The aroma is of mild citrus fruit. The flavour is medium sour and a little acidic on the palate. I liked this but its not the best from Struisse for me.

Dark chestnut with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, licorice and dried fruit. Dry and slightly tart flavour, with plum, licorice and roasted malt. Very inappropriate ashy aftertaste.

50 cl bottle. Late night bottle share on 4/27/2013 thanks to Adam on this one. Nose is tart sour dark fruits ( plums and raisin). The flavor starts sweet but then goes into funky. Mild pucker from lots of fruit notes. Good amount of funky old wood tones. The barrel aging for this old of a brew for sure adds good sourness. Medium body with very low carbonation. Has a kind of sticky texture. A very nice change of pace after an evening of Barrel aged imperial stouts. This will not shatter your mind with complexity but still decent.
