Bottle. Pours like jet black oil, dense dark brown head with good retention and lacing. Vanilla dominates the aroma, background of espresso and nuts. Taste is rick dark chocolate, vanilla, espresso, nutty earthiness. Delicious.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 11/30/2016. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense dark tan head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, hazelnut, caramel, toffee, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, raisin, plum, fig, date, smoke, char, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. A bit of booziness as it warms. Damn nice complexity and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, cocoa/vanilla/hazelnut, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, hazelnut, caramel, toffee, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, raisin, plum, fig, date, smoke, char, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/spicy hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, hazelnut, caramel, toffee, toasted dark bread, molasses, licorice, dark fruit, light smoke/char, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, cocoa/vanilla/hazelnut, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light dryness from roast/char and earthy hop bitterness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden; a mild warmth lingering after the finish, with minimal booziness. Overall this is an outstanding flavored imperial stout! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, cocoa/vanilla/hazelnut, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on for the big ABV. Really rich and well balanced between deep malt complexity and flavoring; a bit fruity/yeasty, but not overwhelming. A highly enjoyable offering.
