Draught from brooklyneer. Pours a darkish slightly reddish brown. A bit cloudy. Pretty subtantial head that leaves rings. Aroma grass + earth. Taste is some light caramel malts on top of earthy hops

Location: Draft at Cue Nine, 10/28/14
Aroma: The nose of this one is malty, bready, with a little caramel
Appearance: The pour is mostly clear orange with a white head and plenty of lace
Flavor: The flavor is mid-sweet and malty as well, with a lighter balancing bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, leaning light, fairly clean and pretty easy drinking
Overall Impression: This is a solid example of the style. Nothing too special, but solid for sure. I had no complaints, but it didn’t standout or anything.

Drought at International Great Beer Expo (Meadowlands). Hazy orange with white foamy head, faint doughy aroma, high carbonation, yeasty taste, medium finish with alcohol aftertaste. Not a great beer.

Associated Supermarket, Buskwick growler ($9): Pours a light amber with a weird looking head. Aroma is caramel malt. ’Tis pretty standard marzen smell in my book. Taste is lighter and more attenuated than that of many other marzens. Slightly sweet. Light body. Not all that malty. Meh.
