This style of beer is based on the English Mild, which was a combination
of a stout and a lighter beer favored by coal miners in Scotland, Ireland and North England. We've brought together the grains used to make both a Stout and a Pale Ale and balanced them in our Nut Brown Ale to produce a beer with a chocolate and molasses flavor and hints of caramel and coffee in the background.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with reddish tint, very small off-white foamy head that disappears almost immediately, caramel aroma, slightly sweet with a hint of cherry, low carbonation, abrupt finish. A bit weak for my taste. --- Beer merged from original tick of Nut Brown Ale on 29 Mar 2013 at 19:22 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 4 | Flavor - 4 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 6. Bottle. Pours brown. Off white head. Nose/taste of sweet and brown malt, assorted nuts, light caramel and even lighter toffee. Lightish body. Creamy mouthfeel.

Tap. Poured a reddish brown color, medium white head. Aroma was nutty, earthy. Flavor was nutty, beer was creamy, smooth - good. Dry, roasted finish.

Growler courtesy of Proteus93. Thanks! Pours a chocolate brown color with a moderate sized offwhite frothy head. Good head retention and lacing. Odd aroma of nuts, chocolate, varnish. Taste is nutty, chocolate, leafy hops and a bit of saltiness. Medium bodied. This is an odd beast.

Half gallon growler. Transluscent medium brown color with a small beige head. Light cocoa malt nose. Sweet roasted malt flavor lacks depth. Easily drinkable, but lacks real body or character. Average at best.
