Lattina. Al naso arrivano indizi di orzo. L'intensità olfattiva è normale e l'esistenza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il mantello birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma che resiste abbastanza. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana medio-fine. Il liquido è di apparenza velata. Bollicine medio-fini costituiscono anche la forma del perlage. Il colore è giallo dorato carico. Il corpo è rotondo. L'amaro è pronunciato. La forza gustativa è normale e si prolunga in modo sufficiente. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è di media intensità. Sul tetto della bocca si fermano note di caramello, miele, cereali, frutta secca, luppolo, un accenno di resinoso quasi balsamico, erba, agrumi e alcol presente.

0,33 l bottle. Pours hazy golden with couple of fingers of long lasting just off white rocky head. Aroma of yeast, bread malt, some caramel, slightly spicy, banana esters and clove phenol, a hint of earthiness. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. Finish is long, dry, earthy bitterness. Nicely complex and pleasantly drinkable.

Bottle from Tesco. Thought I'd already had this but must have been a different La Chouffe. Drank at room temperature. Mostly clear gold with great lasting white head. Aroma is sweet, yeast, clove, malts, hay, faint fruitiness; has a decent freshness to it. Taste of booze, spice with clove notable, orange peel, coriander sweet malts with a punchy bitterness to balance. Nice complexity to this for what is a mass market beer.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Rated at last this classic from the Ardennes, hazy golden coloured brew well balanced bittersweet taste.

330ml bottle from Tesco Extra in Chesterfield - deep gold body with a huge white head. Boozy butterscotch and caramel malty character, some bittersweet features at the back loses a bit for me.
