50cl bottle BB 07/2011. Poured clear golden with a frothy head. Aroma is hay and malt. Flavor is grassy, slightly grainy, low bitter finish. Refreshing and very drinkable. Fresh from the tap this would be awesome. One of the better Kölsch I have tried so far.

Bottle at the Euston Tap. Light yellow pour with a foamy, white head. Sugary malt aroma. Sweet flavor, a touch syrupy, with some cereal malts and straw bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes sweetly with a mild hop presence. Not a great example but good enough.

33cl bottle bought at Köln central station. A straightforward refreshing Kölsch; highly carbonated with a floral aroma and good bitterness but lacking the sourness usually associated with the style.

Bottled. Light and fruity flavor with a bit of honey and pleasant biscuit malts some caramel and melon. Much better on tap, but a nice, light, clean beer, even though flavors are rather dulled in the bottle.

Draught at Aachner Brauhaus in Germany. Bright golden yellow with a small white edge head. Malty aroma with a slight background of floral hops. Refreshing flavor, very slight bitterness, some black pepper and good malts. Decent enough body. Not quite as good as previous tasting in Koeln, but I’ll chalk that up to the atmosphere, drinking it in front of the cathedral.
