2/10/2010 - Draft, Toronado. My first beer from Toronado’s RR -tion night. The beer pours dark orange with a sour-ish fizzy head. The aroma is fruity and deep but fairly subtle. I smelled peaches, apples, funk, earth, candied lemon peel, oak and an assertive sourness. The sour is definitely present in the flavor but it’s restrained and allows the fruitiness to come through in a very pleasing fashion. The beer is quite dry from both sourness and oak. The balance between oak, fruit, sour and funk is what really made this beer special for me. Most sours seem to favor certain notes, but I found Deviation to be quite balanced in that respect. A very fine sour that I’m happy to have tried. 6/27/2015 - Bottle thanks to ineedbeer. The beer is a nice medium amber color. Much better than expected clarity. The head is light tan and smallish but shows off good carbonation for a fairly old beer. The aroma shows some age but there’s a whole bunch of nice stuff going on. Dusty, fruity brett. Aged, pleasant caramel malt. Raisins, sherry, mild fruity vinegar. Peaches, apricots, grapes. Taste is only mildly to moderately sour. Lots of nice fruitiness. Very mild bitter note. Flavors seem softened by time. Light tannins. Relatively lightly oxidized caramel malt. Gentle carbonation. Full flavor. Light pucker.

Hazy orange color. Sour aroma, with mild fruitness, citrusy, and light cellar touch. Good mouthfeel, hidden malt flavor, silky sourness, citrusy touch, with a late astringency. Excellent.

Rate #300! Big thanks to Beershine and Oakes for sharing a bottle of this. Pours light caramel in color with small white head. Nice sour, acidic aroma. Flavor is sour and citrusy with a good amount of funkiness. Light to medium body with lively carbonation. Excellent beer.

Hazy amber with with medium white head. Sour aroma with grapefruit, barnyard, hay and woody notes. Sour flavor with barnyard, grapefruit, leather and woody notes. Ends sour.

From bottle #30 at sk8vikings American blind tasting. Pours hazy orange and with a lacing white head. Aroma is dry and acidic with a solid orange fruity aroma. Flavour is solid acidic and orang fruity. Dense flavour yet towards smooth. Acidic and citric finish with a nice sulphor and wooden touch. Finish makes me shiver. Smooth and utterly wellbalanced.

750 ml bottle courtesy of after4ever. Pour is golden ruby orange, with an off white head that falls fast. Aroma is sour tart and a lot of the Bretty yeastiness. The tartness is very fruity, cherries, pineapples, acidic for sure. Much complexity in the nose. Taste is like drinking an entire cherry - fruit, sour, pit, stems, dirt. All is well blended and melded together. Really nice sour character to it. The aftertaste features a lot of natural earthiness. Palate is solid, light enough to feature the sour - bulky enough to carry the big earth and funkiness. Drying finish. Some of the oak woodiness is present in the aftertaste, I hadn’t noticed much of the wood prior to that. Huge thanks for this one Tom!
