330ml bottle [Merci barman ’t le bier!]. Slightly cloudy, orangey, pale golden colour with huge, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. With opening the bottle and at the latest from pouring, a bretty aroma with typical sweet-ish bubblegum and funky touch fills the room; the nose is nevertheless dominated by citrusy fruity hoppy flavours, notes of lemon, grapefruit, nectarine, mirabelle, peach peel, the bretty notes remain present in subordinated attitude, additionally some peppery spicyness. Taste is slightly bitter hoppy, citrusy, hints of lemon and grapefruit, funky undertones, some peach peel, a peppery spicy touch; slightly prickling, refreshing carbonation with bridled liveliness. Though quite complex, very drinkable due to its excellent balance.

Belgian blonde inspired by the World War I commemorations. Sticky, lacing, off-white, dense but thin head over a deep golden blonde beer, clear but hazy with deposit. Aroma of freshly cut orange peel, bread dough, red apple, unripe peach, pineapple, banana, grass, straw, cake and quite a lot of iron. Fruity, estery onset, sweetish fruitiness, yeasty with smooth mouthfeel, typical ’velvety’ feel of oatmeals like a downtuned Tripel Karmeliet, metallic ’zing’, phenolic spiciness in the finish along with grassy and leafy hop bitterness. Quite well-balanced, but the metallic feel bothers me a bit.
