On tap at La Trappiste Brugge. Clear amber colour. Bit of soap. Some light saison character. Frankly after Rodenbach Alexander all other beers pale. Yes just too soapy for me. Hoppy finish. Quite bitter. Nope hard to finish.

From tap at Le Trappiste, Bruges. Pours clear golden/orange with a minimal, foamy, white head. The aroma contains flowers, perfume (for tea), herbs, yeast, hops and hay. It tastes light to medium sweet and only light bitter. Fizzy carbonation, creamy texture. Nice, quenching.

Tap at Au Trappiste. Pours hazy orange gold with a huge off-white head. Earthy aroma. Med body at least. Flavor is earthy and hoppy. Dryish and bitter. Quite nice and to style.

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 10/15/2017. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 2-3 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lemon zest, peach, pear, apple, orange peel, peppercorn, wheat, biscuit, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and moderate bready malt/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon zest, peach, pear, apple, orange peel, peppercorn, wheat, biscuit, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good sized yeast spiciness, and moderate herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon zest, peach, pear, apple, orange peel, peppercorn, wheat, biscuit, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast and moderate bready malt/earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitter/spiciness, increasing through the glass. High carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately creamy/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is a fantastic saison! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast and moderate bready malt/earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and quite refreshing to drink. A very classic tasting saison, with an incredible level of complexity. A highly enjoyable offering.

Monumentális, tartós hab, szűretlen, borostyán szín. Malátás illatvilág, némi komlóval és fűszerekkel. Malátás, fűszeres ízek, enyhe keserűvel és közepes szénsavval. Testes, finom sör.
