(Tap sample @ CBC 2016 Green Session, Copenhagen) Nose is rich fudgey chocolate cake, hefty coconut, full bourbon barrel notes of whiskey, vanilla, charred wood. Flavour is dark chocolate and chocolate cake dough, sweet coconut, bourbon, vanilla, light wood, rather sweet and fudge-like overall, but with ample drying provided by above average chili pepper heat on the back, lightly smoky and amplifying the slightly bitter roast in the back end. Aftertaste is dry and chili-forward with lingering chocolate, coconut and spirits. Quite full bodied and softly carbonated. Beautifully rich but not a sugar bomb, if anything I found the chili slightly overbearing balance-wise in terms of blowing out the long finish. A really good stout.
