300ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, dark malty and caramel malty, slightly woody aroma, hints of liquorice and oak. Taste is roasty, dark malty, slightly sweet, caramel malty and minimally woody, hints of dark caramel, some oak, a touch of liquorice.
Creamy texture, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, dense, creamy, mildly prickly carbonation.
Harmonious, homogeneous, mild - nice.

Aroma of dark malt, caramel, candy sugar, fruity notes, lots of herbal notes. Only a hint of roast. Flavour is sweet with a light bittersweet finish. This isn’t anywhere near a Stout, more like a sweet Dubbel. Quite disappointing.

0.3 l bottle from 'AH XL' (Roermond), best before February 2026. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a bit roasty aroma of caramel, raisins, cocoa, some coffee and light oak. Gently sweet, malty, quite roasty-bitter, a little fruity taste of caramel, dark chocolate, ash, coffee, licorice, some raisins and light oak, followed by a short, quite roasty-bitter finish. Medium to full body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Solid stout.

Fles gedeeld door NickvdH. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier met een medium bruinig schuim. Het heeft een aroma van eikenhout en gebrande mout een hint vanille. De smaak is vol, gebrande mout, koffie, chocolade en een beetje drop.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een donkerbruin bier met een beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van gedroogd fruit en hout. De smaak is vol, warm, drop achtig en houtig.

As Lindeboom Gouverneur Stout op Hout. Huge thanks to Erzengel for sharing. Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass dark brown, nice head. Roasty sweetish malty aroma. Starts fine roasty malty, not too sweet. Some fine woody hints as well. Mild bitter chocolate in the back. Finish well balanced, smooth-malty. Nice!

Fles 30 cl Gouverneur Stout op Hout. Zwart bier met mooie schuimkraag die helaas toch redelijk snel wegzakt. Smaak is bitter en licht zoet met iets van drop, karamel en wat hout en noten.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Soft roast aroma with a hint of salt. malty sweetish, soft roasty aroma. Caramel. Soft and mellow. Hint of coffee. Friendly, but lacks punch, character and wood.
